GrandyOats Coconut + Fruit Granola and GrandyOats Wild Blueberry Granola: Organic and Made by Hand in Small Batches in Maine

BROWNFIELD, Maine – September 16, 2015 – The REAL GRANOLAS at GrandyOats today announced the launch of GrandyOats Organic Coconut + Fruit Packaged Granola and GrandyOats Organic Wild Blueberry Packaged Granola. Like all GrandyOats cereals and snacks, the new granola flavors are certified organic, non-GMO, and made by hand in small batches by the GrandyOats family at their historic barn in Brownfield, Maine.

GrandyOats Coconut + Fruit Granola is a savory-sweet, organic granola with a hearty blend of organic oats, rich coconut flakes, fruit juice-sweetened dried cranberries, plump raisins, wild flower honey, coriander and sea salt.

GrandyOats Wild Blueberry Granola is an antioxidant rich blend of organic oats, fruit juice- sweetened dried blueberries, wild flower honey, real organic vanilla, and nutrient-packed sunflower and sesame seeds.

Both new flavors are made with organic sunflower oil and do not use canola oil.

GrandyOats never uses refined sugar or artificial ingredients in its recipes. Both new flavors are sweetened with real, wild flower honey and have organic apple juice sweetened fruit.  Certified organic by Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) and certified Kosher, GrandyOats never uses products that contain antibiotics, synthetic hormones, toxic pesticides or GMOs. GrandyOats Organic Granola is part of a healthy breakfast, alone as a nourishing snack, or a hearty ingredient to add to muffins and baked goods, layer in yogurt parfaits, or serve atop warm apple or pear crisp.

U.S. Sales of bagged and boxed granola cereal represents approximately $400 million in 2014, according to Nielsen. Cold cereal is still the number one choice for breakfast in America, despite growth in other segments of the breakfast market. According to Packaged Facts, three in four adults eat cold cereal. Three in five of those cold cereal eaters consume cereal daily or a few times a week.

According to the article “Granola is Sowing Its Wild Oats” by Jeff Gordiner, New York Times, an American granola renaissance is taking place. “All over the country, small-batch entrepreneurs see granola as a booming growth sector, while chefs view it as an elegant and wide-open canvas for culinary experimentation.”

While granola epitomized the era of hippie health food, it also ushered in a focus on wholesomeness and whole grains that is more relevant than ever. IRI InfoScan Reviews give nod to the small, boutique marketers with local, organic and non-GMO stories to tell, as well as the ongoing trend of more frequent, smaller portions and snacking. Americans continue to consume “breakfast” cereal morning, noon and night. More than 40 percent of cereal consumers eat it as an evening or late-night meal or snack, according to Packaged Facts.

GrandyOats Organic Coconut + Fruit Granola and GrandyOats Organic Wild Blueberry Granola come in a 13 oz. resealable gusseted bag with an SRP of $7.99 each and are now available nationwide in natural food stores, food cooperatives, major grocery chains and online at www.grandyoats.com.

GrandyOats and the GrandyOats Oatswagon will be at Natural Products Expo East 2015 at Booth #119 in Baltimore, Maryland, from September 17 to 19.
